Staff Accountant


Summary:
This individual will handle day to day accounting responsibilities and work closely with the financial leadership team in a nonprofit setting.
Responsibilities:
Drive month-end close process, including but not limited to balance sheet reconciliations and detailed income statement schedules, preparation of journal entries, accruals, and analysis of ad hoc reporting
Responsible for all general accounting activities to include maintenance of the general ledger system and processing of all account reconciliations
Process, post, and reconcile cash receipts and deposits
Handle all bank reconciliations
General ledger account analysis as required
Responsible for the full-cycle of accounts payable
Work with fund development to account for and process donations
Participate in streamlining processes for effective use of time
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, business administration, or a related field required; CPA a plus
5 years of experience in accounting and finance roles with increasing responsibilities; nonprofit accounting experience preferred
Ability to lead change and suggest process improvements
Ability to plan, execute, and deliver on projects and tasks in a timely manner
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly, appropriately, and effectively with all levels of staff
Team player with a positive can do approach

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
