Summary:
This position is responsible for supplier qualification and measurement, data analysis, and the development of comprehensive internal and external commodity profiles.
The Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager leads the Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, assesses results, and builds a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model to inform supplier ranking.
Effective communication of RFP results to suppliers and stakeholders, negotiation strategy development, and conducting negotiations are key responsibilities.
Additionally, this role involves defining implementation plans for assigned categories, managing master contracts, providing regular status reports, and developing and executing category-specific communications.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements:
1.
Develop and maintain comprehensive internal and external commodity profiles, enabling a deep understanding of the market dynamics and supplier landscape.
2.
Conduct Requests for Information (RFI) with potential suppliers, gathering essential data to inform sourcing decisions.
3.
Structure and oversee the development of Requests for Proposals (RFP), meticulously evaluating and assessing the results to identify the best-fit suppliers.
4.
Build a robust Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model, incorporating a supplier ranking matrix, to enable data-driven supplier selection.
5.
Determine an effective process for communicating the RFP to relevant stakeholders and manage the dissemination of information.
6.
Collaborate with suppliers and interested parties to communicate RFP results, fostering transparent and productive relationships.
7.
Develop and implement negotiation strategies, ensuring favorable outcomes for the organization.
8.
Lead the development of fact-based briefs for supplier meetings, equipping the team with essential information to drive productive discussions.
9.
Define and execute an implementation plan for the assigned category, ensuring smooth integration of new suppliers and initiatives.
10.
Negotiate, implement, and manage master contracts with suppliers, optimizing terms and conditions.
11.
Keep the Commodity Team Sponsor informed through regular status reports, providing updates on key initiatives and milestones.
12.
Collaborate with the team to develop a comprehensive work plan, establishing key milestones and deliverables.
13.
Create and maintain a teamwork schedule, accounting for vacations, travel, outages, and other factors impacting the team's availability.
14.
Develop and execute a robust communications plan for category-specific communications, ensuring effective and timely information dissemination.
15.
Lead and develop the strategic sourcing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment to ensure the growth and professional development of team members.
16.
All other duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience Preferred:
o5-7 years of prior experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
oStrong leadership abilities with the capacity to manage and inspire a team towards achieving strategic objectives.
oExtensive knowledge of strategic sourcing processes, methodologies, and best practices.
oExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, interpret, and analyze complex data sets.
oExceptional negotiation and contract management skills, with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes.
oExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
oDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
oProficiency in using sourcing and procurement software/tools.
oAbility to adapt to a dynamic business environment and work effectively under pressure.
oKnowledge of customs/international sourcing and sustainability.
Education Requirements:
oBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance or a related fieldoMBA preferredPhysical Requirements:
