The Public and Community Relations Director drives and leads the brand's global Public Relations (PR) strategies in partnership with our agencies, ensuring that PR and events are a key component in our omni-channel strategy that will drive engagement, growth and revenue goals across digital channels globally. Primary Duties Work closely with brand marketing leadership and agencies to ensure that the global public relation strategies align with brand strategies with clear priorities, and are executed with excellence with measurable KPIs. Develop, manage and execute best-in-class seasonal and monthly PR activations plans with the PR team and cross-functional partners, that help drive brand heat and help increased earned media coverage with a focus on continuous improvement. Develops and leads a team of direct reports in advancing our brand's cause, community, sustainability, and diversity and inclusion efforts as part of our brands strategic plans. Positions the Merrell leadership as industry thought leaders. Identifies trending topics and issues of importance for the brand to address, identifies and arranges speaking, publication and social media opportunities; and drafts internal and external communications on behalf of leadership. Develops, plans and executes brand storytelling strategies on LinkedIn to tell the Merrell brand & employee stories. Directs community and philanthropy programs and activities. Monitors for risk and be prepared with risk strategies when bad PR arises. Share key monthly wins and metrics with brand team. Performs duties consistent with the Company's AAP/EEO goals and policies. Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Advertising and/or Marketing/MBA preferred or equivalent work experience 8
years Public Relations and/or Marketing experience Proven leadership skills with at least 3 years' experience at the manager level Previous experience working with external Public Relations agencies Consumer product experience required; experience in the footwear or apparel industry preferred. Strong personal connections with brand mission and understanding of target consumer behaviors. Comfortable in fast-changing, fast paced environment with tight deadlines and the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects. Solid written communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated comfort level with public speaking and presenting. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally. WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment. Travel required.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Communications & PREstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
